Community Development Trust Ballot Results
At its meeting last night the Working Group received the
independent verifier’s report of the results of the recent community ballot,
details of which were as follows: -
151 ballot papers were issued
107 properly completed ballot papers were returned by the
deadline of 12.00 on Monday 14 April 2008. This number represents 70.9% of the
ballot papers issued.
Ballot A – “Should a Community Development Trust be
established on Lismore?”
86 voted “YES” and 19 voted “NO”
85 voted “YES” and 20 voted “NO”

meeting held on 07 March 2008 the
The Working Group has recommended that the Steering Group and
the subsequent Board should comprise nine members. In the event that more than 9
nominations are made a ballot will be arranged to elect the nine nominees to
serve.
Nomination forms can be obtained from Lismore Stores.
Each nomination requires a proposer and seconder and the
nominee must indicate their willingness to be appointed, by signing the form.
If you believe that a Community Development Trust can help
secure the future welfare and economic success of this island community, and if
you are willing and able to contribute your time and effort to getting a trust
established please submit a nomination form.
Completed nomination forms should be placed in the box
provided at Lismore Stores no later than 12.00 noon on 21 May 2008.
Once the Steering Group is appointed the current Working
Group will be dissolved.
