Some of the visiting artists.
A
memorable evening of music, dance and laughter was held at Lismore Community
Hall on Friday 18th August organised by the Comann Eachdraigh Lois Mor. The
talented line up of singers and musicians were very ably led by the Lochaber
Trio. Calum MacColl piped like the
champion that he is and Margaret MacLellan, more than once a Mod gold medallist,
sang magnificently. Other visiting singers included: F Ann MacLean, Morag Smith,
Jimmy Cameron, Charlie MacColl, Murdo MacLeod and Calum Smith.
And there was no shortage of local performers who included Duncan Livingstone,
mother and daughter duo Mary MacDougall and Laura Cook, and Katie Wright and her
daughters Kirsty and Shona - pupils of Lismore Primary School who have, without
doubt a musical future.
The songs were punctuated by very lively dancing and the whole evening was
co-ordinated with skill and wit by Agnes MacLean. Archie MacColl, deputy
chairman of CELM gave the vote of thanks. Arrangements for next year's event
were being made before the end of the evening.
