Readathon

March 2005

All fourteen children in Lismore Primary school recently took part in ‘Readathon’. By reading as many books and magazines as they could in three weeks, they raised, through sponsorship, the amazing sum of £266 48. The youngest children mainly listened to taped stories although some of them also accepted the challenge of reading books.

The money raised will go to the Roald Dahl Foundation for sick children and their families and Sargent Cancer Care for Children. It will be spent primarily helping children and young people in Scotland suffering from cancer, Hodgkin’s disease, leukaemia, epilepsy, blood disorders or acquired brain injury.
