Music and Dance Festival

28 April 2005

The Lismore school recorder group were very disappointed when they arrived to catch the ferry only to see it turn back half way across in stormy weather which meant they could not take part in the second day of the Highlands and Islands’ Music and Dance Festival. Coached by Katy Wright, they had worked hard on the Habanera from Bizet’s Carmen and were excited at the thought of performing. Fortunately the ferry ran the previous day when the whole school, including 4 year old Shona Wright, danced with great enthusiasm in the country dancing. In the large Junior Fiddle class Joe Derham was awarded third place and praised for his sweet tone and rhythmical playing.
