Fuel Update

At the inaugural meeting of the new Community Council the following Office bearers were elected: Chair – John Carmichael; Vice Chair Archibald MacGillivary; Treasurer - Duncan Livingstone. Dr Amanda Currie was co-opted as Secretary. Among other items discussed was the continuing fuel crisis. Reporting from the Fuel sub committee, Julian Worlmleighton said that, after negotiations, Argyll and Bute Council and the Argyll and Islands’ Enterprise had agreed to continue until the end of June to fund the delivery currently being undertaken fortnightly by Foster Yeoman. Gunns garage have also agreed to continue their invaluable part in the scheme. A vote of thanks was proposed for the hard working sub committee. Elaine Robertson said that this fuel crisis was an excellent example of efficient partnership between the Argyll and Bute, the Argyll and the Islands’ Enterprise, Foster Yeoman, Gunns Garage and Lismore islanders and she congratulated the outgoing council.
