Scottish Country Dancing Class Celebrates

On the 4 November 2003 it was ten years to the day since Anne Livingstone had started a Scottish Country Dance Class which was to prove so popular and so enduring that it is now a weekly fixture on Lismore’s calendar

40 people were in the hall that night to express their appreciation and to see Anne being presented with an Ortak silver brooch. All had been part of the class at some stage and included everyone of the current 14 dancers.

Anne has been Scottish Country Dancing since she was a child and is a qualified teacher certified by the Royal Scottish Country Dancing Society, so her coming to Lismore after marrying Duncan Livingstone 10 years ago, has added to the island’s many attractions.

As well as meeting weekly, the group also perform in local ceilidhs, occasionally travel to dance in Oban and Appin, and every 2 weeks in Summer Lismore welcomes dancers from as far afield as Roybridge, Taynuilt, Connel, Oban and Appin.
Congratulations to all concerned and here’s to a long and happy future.
