Lismore has a new resident
A big welcome to
Shayne Joseph Stewart
![]() |
Lismore is very pleased to welcome Shayne Joseph Stewart and congratulates Anna Stewart who gave birth to him 4 April 2003 in the Queen Mother’s Hospital in Glasgow. | ![]() |
|
A baby anywhere but especially on Lismore is always an event and cause for great celebration. New life keeps island life going:; everything and everyone depends on it to keep the school and all the other vital services running.

So Shayne is on a great fuss from us all but especially at the Mill where he lives with Grandmother Jessie Stewart and her family. Word is that he is not just adorable but extremely easy. |

Despite some early difficulties Shayne is now blooming and will soon be a playmate for Hannah Whyte born just over four months earlier. | ![]() |
Another Great Lismore School Fete
14 August 2003
The crowds turned out for the fete again this year, the
weather was great and the highlight was the auctioning of a model Caledonian
MacBrayne ferry which raised £68 alone with head teacher Freda MacGregor
playing the bidders like an expert.
But before that there were many ways to part money from
punter from guessing the number of raisins in Neil Carmichael’s delicious
looking cake to throwing your money nearest to a whisky bottle, tossing a welly
or lucky dipping to name a few.

Norma’s ice creams were popular with all
ages and Iris and her team served teas, coffees and home baking non stop.

Lismore Church Guild Coffee Day
14 August 2003
![]() |
There were plenty of visitors as well as locals at the Lismore Church Guild annual coffee day and the internet café was off duty as they poured in for the delicious refreshments……...
|
| They also enjoyed the chance to browse at Jessie Stewart’s bric a brac stall and to view the annual Art Show, which had just started its popular two week run. | ![]() |

The computer playing scenes of Lismore as well as pictures
of recent events was very popular and……
….these two were very interested in the bric a brac.

Thanks to the hard work of all the members and the usual high standard of the produce the day raised £290
