Barbecue and Barn Dance

24 July 2004

Donnie and Anne MacCormick, Baligarve, hosted another lively and packed barbecue and barn dance which, unlike the sports, was not rained off. After the barbeque, everyone danced to the Neil Sinclair Band , whose great tunes and engaging rhythms had them stomping into the early hours. A great night all round, as with the aid of an auction and raffles, it raised a staggering £2140 for the MacMillan Nurses and, in addition,  Jim MacCormick collected lose change in a bucket for the children of Sudan.

Hilary Brown,  Macmillan Nurse for Oban, Lorne and the Isles (seen below with Anne) said it was astonishing and wonderful that such a small island had collected so much in one evening. The generosity was staggering and she thanked all who contributed.
