School Garden Party on 26th June 2013

A very enjoyable garden party with entertainment and refreshments was held at Lismore Primary School, to showcase all that had been going on throughout the year. The children met and greeted the visitors in a poised and assured way and then showed them round the art gallery, the new outdoor learning centre, the weather station and the pond. They were proudest of the new outdoor Story Chair, donated by the Parent Council, in memory of Fay Carmichael who was always such a good friend to the school. This is a place where the children can read, be read to or just sit quietly. A concert with dancing followed with the winning Mòd songs from Rachel MacCormick and Katy Cook as well as the action song that gained all the children a first place. The Pre Fives sang a most welcoming song and there were impressive recorder solos and group playing. The last item was two country dances under the watchful eye of teacher Anne Livingstone and the finale an invitation to the guests to join in. The afternoon finished with the raffle and delicious refreshments. Well done to all at the school for such an enjoyable afternoon.
