Christmas Craft Fair on 24th November 2012

The fourth Christmas Craft Fair (and the first organised by Roxanne) was another success with the hall filled with buyers and sellers. The quality and range of items for sale was a credit to the island – cards, stockings, pictures, soap, bookmarks, cards, felting kits, lavendar, sweets, decorations, cards, beef, hats, bracelets, cakes and, of course, cards. Something for everyone looking for Christmas ideas. Vance's enthusiastic direct sales approach let us see an energetic entrepreneur at the beginning of his career, whilst other, more experienced hands showed that a more laid back approach can be equally successful.

Lorraine's punch balloons proved popular with the younger children and watching adults whilst a constant stream of chic bargain hunters took advantage of Sarah's stall (and her advice). Those seeking a moment of calm away from the commerce found it in the excellent teas provided by Heidi and her team – the soup and sandwiches coming in for particular praise. As usual, the event ended with a raffle and happy winners each taking away an unexpected bonus. An excellent day and a tribute to the enterprise and creativity of the people of Lismore.

If you were unable to attend the Craft Fair but have seen something you like, the following will be able to help you until stocks run out. Brona, Christina, Hazel, Jim, John, June, Kirsty and Shona, Mary, Nic and Sarah, Roger and Gilly, Rose, Roxanne, Sarah (Mogwaii) and the school
