At the recent AGM of Lismore Community Transport a farewell speech and presentation was made to Norma Black who was standing down as Chair after eleven years "virtually running the show" to quote the new Chair, Julian Wormleighton. Without Norma's hard work and vision there would not have been a community bus which so transformed the lives of many islanders and in particular the young children who were able to go to all kinds of things on the mainland which had previously been denied them. In addition, Norma said, in reply, it was timely as it played such a large part in the life of all islanders and certainly the Lismore Heritage Centre making it possible for many visitors to reach the museum and café from the ferries and attend significant events such as the museum opening in 2007. Norma paid tribute to all who had helped in the running of the bus including the committee and the many drivers
