The Comann Eachdraidh annual Ceilidh was a great success with musicians from Oban, Lochaber and Wick joining the abundant local talent. Bean an Tighe Charlie MacColl from Lochaber commented that it was good to see so many of the very youngest performing in Gaelic, the primary children being represented with songs from Vance Cass and Katy Cook with Shona Wright playing the guitar while her mother, Katy Crossan, sang. Liosachs Duncan Livingstone and Laura Cook also sang and Duncan Ferguson was a great accordionist. Piper Angus MacColl from Lochaber opened the evening and displayed his versatility when he later played the accordion. Other visitors who sang were Jimmy Cameron, Morag Smith, Charlie MacColl and to end the first half the star attraction Raymond Bremner. After tea and cakes the second half offered more great turns and then the dancing began. This event, which has become a summer attraction, gives a great insight into how well the island is developing its Gaelic heritage which is a measure of how positive the impact that Comann Eachdraidh Lios Mr and its Museum at Ionad Naomh Moluag, is having.
