The Lismore Museum has appointed Lorraine King as its Assistant Curator, the position being funded from a grant from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation. Lorraine, who started on 1st August and will remain in post for a minimum of eighteen months, will be working to ensure that the museum's collections become available to a growing audience. She will develop a hands-on programme of events for primary schools in the area, put together travelling displays and establish contact with other museums to foster exchange of items. Every year at least 1500 adults and many more children visit the award-winning museum at the Heritage Centre, and extending access will greatly enhance their experience of the many attractions.
