MoonWalk – 20th May 2011

The weather has been unseasonably cold and wet since early May and, as well as being very bad for farmers and their stock, it also managed to disrupt this year's moonwalk for breast cancer. Lismore and Appin walkers were to have got together on the mainland but the ferry was unable to guarantee the return run on Friday night so Lismore walkers met at the café for their 10 kilometers. Fortunately it stayed dry - an event in itself - and altogether 17 completed the walk (14 women - one on a bicycle - and 3 girls) and the total raised on Lismore was in excess of £1500. The evening ended with some delicious refreshments in the café.

Thank you to everyone who donated to this cause - we had a great time and my dogs especially enjoyed themselves. The money continues to come in and I am sure we will have raised £5000 by the time we are finished.
