Head Teacher Leaves
The parent council, staff, and children of Lismore Primary School has said goodbye to its head teacher Jennifer Kirkwood. Sarah Campbell, whose son Tom is in primary seven, made cushions from her Mogwaii textile collection to match the quilt the school had given Jennifer as a wedding present. Each cushion showed flora and fauna seen on the island - rowan, sycamore leaf and wrens - appliquéd onto tweed with the words "Many thanks and Best wishes from Lismore Primary." Sarah said it was a pleasure to make something for Jennifer who had brought vitality and creativity to the pupils. Others spoke of her energy and positivity.
Until a permanent head can be appointed – the post has been advertised – the school has welcomed acting head Mary Heath, who until she retired five years ago, was depute at Rockfield in Oban. The school also has a new secretary, Denise Willis, and a new cook, Hazel MacCormick.
8 year old Sophie King wrote the following poem for Jennifer who always told the pupils to Stop, Look and Listen.

Here she comes Stop Look and Listen
What did she say Stop Look and Listen
You can learn and play Stop Look and Listen
You can all have your say Stop Look and Listen
Now she's going away Stop Look and Listen
What can we say Stop Look and Listen
OK!!!
