Kelvingrove Art Gallery

The children of Lismore
Primary School have an exhibition on at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and
Museum!
Last year some of the children at Lismore
Primary School were making "heads" as part of the Curriculum for
Excellence. A chance remark from one of the children about how great it
would be if their heads could be displayed alongside the "Hanging Heads"
at Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow led to the last head teacher
Jennifer Kirkwood emailing Kelvingrove to ask this very question.
A reply came back saying YES! Come and exhibit your heads at Kelvingrove!

The exhibition opened on Sat 5th June and
some of the children travelled down to Glasgow on Sun 6th June for the
official opening of the exhibition! Jennifer was there also and the
children cut a red ribbon and declared the exhibition open! The
children's artwork is displayed right beside the Kelvingrove heads.
The children are so excited to have their
artwork displayed alongside such famous artists as Salvador Dali, Monet
and Van Gogh.
Kelvingrove is Scotland's most popular tourist attraction with over a
million visitors a year and it is the most visited museum in Britain
outside London.
Catch the exhibition if you can - it runs till 23rd
July.
