North Sea Gas

On 17 April 2009 the Scottish folk trio North Sea Gas entertained a small but appreciative audience in Lismore Hall. The band consisting of Dave Gilfillan, Ronnie MacDonald and Grant Simpson gave a lively performance which soon had the audience clapping and foot-tapping in time with the music (mostly). All members of the band sang and played a variety of instruments from bodhran to bouzouki, with Grant Simpson playing movingly on the fiddle and Dave Gilfillan maintaining a joking relationship with the audience. Numbers included many old favourites such as Ye Jacobites by Name, The Bonnie Lass of Fyvie and Loch Lomond, with some interesting modern additions such as The Classy Lassie with the Slimline Chassis. CDs were available to buy and the ever-resourceful Hall Committee provided and excellent tea. Everyone agreed they had had an excellent evening's entertainment.
