Gaelic Weekend


Ten students and their teacher, Anne Paterson, travelled to Lismore to be tutored in Gaelic and to spend the weekend on an island where the Gaelic culture is active. On the Saturday morning they were tutored by Margaret MacDonald and Paddy MacNicol and in the afternoon given a tour in the community bus with Duncan Black as their guide. A ceilidh dance in the public hall rounded off the day chaired by Duncan Livingstone with music from Ian MacInnes and Davie Garret on pipes, choir singing from the visitors, solo songs from Katie Crossant, Mary MacDougall, and Duncan Livingstone  as well as items from our young performers: singers Kirsty Wright and Sophie King and Shona Wright playing the guitar. Dancing was to Balaich Lios Mr.
