Lismore faces

A fascinating collection of photos can now be seen at the Lismore Heritage Museum thanks to the hard work of archive volunteer Margaret Black who has collected photos from all over the island and beyond to present a picture of how life was up to the nineteen fifties. Some of the photos are not identified and visitors  are asked to let the museum know if they can put any names to faces. Most noticeable is the large numbers of children in the school photos from the days when Lismore had two schools, both full. An exhibition of post 1950 photographs is planned for later on in the year. This is an exhibition that anyone with even a passing interest in Lismore will greatly enjoy.

The Museum is now open everyday from 12-3 and  the café everyday from 11-5.
