Christmas Party 2008

Christmas Eve saw the traditional children's party in Lismore Public Hall.

Lots of children came - all of the primary and pre 5 children were there and some children came to Lismore specially for the party.

We had lots of fun party games provided by Anne, Katy and Mary.

We had a tug of war with a giant Christmas cracker - donated by Jennifer Kirkwood the school head teacher. Instead of north against south which we felt was unfair to start the children on at such a young age ( plenty of time for that in years to come!) we had girls against the boys - and the girls won!

The children had lovely festive food provided by the parent council and the adults had tea and a small glass of mulled wine to really kick off the festive season! It was lovely to see all the children in their party clothes - there was not a welly in sight!

The party even had a surprise visit from Santa! He managed to pop in to our party on one of his busiest days of the year with presents for all the children. It was truly magical to see the children's faces light up when they heard the bell and Santa came through the door. The reindeers were left outside as we didn't want a mess on the hall floor.

It was a great party and the children all left full of excitement at what Santa would be bringing down their chimneys tonight.

The parent council would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came and helped out at the party.

A special thank you to the Women's' Guild for their kind donation towards the party.
