Lismore Primary School Events for first Term 2009

As part of our music learning in 2009 we have a 10 week course of Samba Drumming workshops starting on January 9th. We will have around 25 people - children and adults, all learning to play samba music and this will culminate in a carnival performance at our showcase day on Fri 3rd April.

Next Parent Council Meeting Monday 12th Jan at 7.30pm at the school.

Maths Workshop for P4-7 parents 29th January 7pm at the school.

3rd issue of the Lismore Times comes out on Friday 6th February.

Tuesday 17th February sees the start of a Swiss Student Teacher (Mrs B) at the school. She will be here for almost 3 weeks and we are looking forward to welcoming her and her husband to Lismore.

Monday 23rd February - family breakfast 9am at school.

Monday 2nd March we have a storyteller Bea Ferguson coming to school at 11am to tell the children stories based on the "Homecoming" theme. Bea will then go to the Comann Eachdraidh Liosmor for an afternoon of storytelling there with the community.

Tuesday 3rd March - we will be submitting our Eco School Green Flag Application and plan to have a community presentation at 3pm at the school to share our work with the island. Please come along at 3pm to join us. Everyone Welcome. This will be followed by an afternoon tea, to say thank you and goodbye to our Swiss Teacher, Mrs B.

Friday 13th March 9.30-12pm we have a local artist Lucy Johnstone coming to do a workshop at school - "Working with Silk Fibres". We would like to invite any members of the community to come along to this event and join in.

Tuesday 17th March - family breakfast 9am at the school.

Thursday 26th March - 7pm. Jennifer Kirkwood our head teacher will be giving a presentation about her educational visit to Uganda last summer. Please join us at the school. Everyone welcome.

Monday 30th March - Friday 3rd April is our Project Week at the school. We will be having a busy education packed week ending with Showcase Day on the Friday to show the community all the children's hard work and of course to perform our Samba piece for everyone.
