Joy Dunlop and Rachel Hair

On Wednesday 25th June Joy Dunlop and Rachel Hair, together with acoustic guitarist Paul Tracey, visited Lismore as part of their extensive tour of the highlands and islands. Joy is a fine singer and a justly famed interpreter of Gaelic music and Rachel a great Clarsach player with influences from many kinds of music. Their audience was delighted whether they were romping along with jigs and reels, bringing fresh life to the familiar waulking songs, or moving them with their more sedate or passionate numbers. Scottish music Gaelic in particular-  always goes down very well on the island and all musicians whether local or visiting are greatly appreciated.
