Lismore Primary School News. Nov 08

Following on from their recent success at the ABREEF Environmental Fair in Oban where the primary children won 1st AND 2nd place in the Under 16's photography competition and a heap of fantastic prizes, three of the Lismore Primary children have entered another photography competition.

Photoarch is a built environment photographic competition for primary school children across Scotland. The competition encourages children to focus on the buildings and archaeology in their environment and to look at the heritage surrounding them through the medium of photography.
Log onto photoarch.org.uk to see Kara's, Sophie's and Eileen's photos in the Argyll and Bute section.

Next Friday 28th November the primary school children will be doing a Sponsored Silence on the Calmac Lismore to Oban ferry in aid of Kilts for Kids Day 2008.

This event is organised by Children 1st which has worked for over 120 years to try to give every child in Scotland a safe and secure childhood. The theme is to wear something tartan for the day and as the kids are going to a St Andrew's Day Dance in Oban on that day they decided to do something extra - there will be plenty of tartan on display at the St Andrew's day celebration!
This is a very worthwhile cause and the children are hoping to raise a good sum of money.

So if you fancy a peaceful and very quiet trip to Oban next Friday join us on the ferry - and wear something tartan!
