Children’s Summer Events

August 2007

7 August was a fun day for children with sports in the morning organised by Sports’ Scotland and run by Neil Innes followed by a three mile walk to the Museum looking for buried treasure in a hunt organised by Caroline Willis. At the Museum they were entertained by Catherine Gillies and Jennifer Baker with a quiz, and then a journey back in time imagining the lives that children of their age would have led 100 years ago.

During the holidays Barbara MacDougall ran a calligraphy day at the library and also organised the big wild read in which the children were encouraged to read a given number of books over the summer which many of them managed and some exceeded.
