Volunteers needed

Ionad Naomh Moluag, The Heritage Museum, has been running since April with volunteers working on the desk running the Exhibition Room, Taigh Iseabal Dhaid Cottage and the gift shop. This has worked well but one volunteer has had to resign after getting full time work and they are now looking for cover for Wednesdays. The  three hour shifts are from 11am to 2pm and 2pm to 5pm. With the café next door and the many interesting visitors it is a very pleasant post. Volunteers from on and off the island very welcome.

Oral History recordings

Emily Edwards from Ionad Chaluim Chille Ile (St Columba Centre Islay) visited Lismore to record oral history with some of the native Gaelic speakers. Emily runs the oral history unit in Islay and brought her experience to Ionad Naomh Moluag to hear stories from Duncan Livingstone, Archie MacColl, Margaret MacDonald and Donald Black. As her visit coincided with the childrens events’ day she also played her fiddle in the exhibition hall.
