The MacDougall/MacCallum Foundation in the USA

funds researchers

Twins Darleen Weisz and Diane McDowell answered an advertisement in the MacDougall Society newsletter in their native USA offering a 2 week scholarship working on the collection of Ionad Noamh Moluag Museum. As keen and regular visitors to Oban and Argyll they were thrilled when they won the funding offered by the MacDougall MacCallum Foundation. The scholarship was for two weeks but being two they came for one. Their visit coincided with the launch of the Mapping Scotlandís Rural Past project in Lismore and they were able to do preliminary research into that and to hear Dr Tertia Barnett introduce the project to the island (see previous report).

The MacDougall/MacCallum Foundation in the USA has supported the MacDougall Collection, the restoration of Gylen Castle and it is now the turn of Ionad Naomh Moluag Museum where they have generously financed a series of etched windows in the exhibition area as well as this research scholarship. The windows alone amount to a donation of £1,500 for which the Comann Eachdraidh Lios MÚr is extremely grateful.
