We need a Head Teacher

25 March 2007

Lismore primary school needs a new Head Teacher.

This thriving small school is located at the south of the island  near the Oban ferry and there is nearby teacher's house. At the moment the school expect to have  7 pupils in 2007/8 with 3 in the preschool and nursery.

The school has very strong community and parental support making a wide variety of extra curricula activities possible which add great value to the core curriculum.

While we are sad to say goodbye to head Teacher Freda MacGregor who is retiring after 20 years' service, we are happy to tell you that Freda and her team have done a great job seeing the island's children move from pre school to high school and made it a rich experience for all.

Lismore is a very vibrant community (as this website will testify) and the successful candidate will find a warm welcome, an interesting social mix, plenty of community support and an exceptionally pleasant place to live.

If you cannot resist the idea of joining this very special community on a safe, beautiful island with good links to the mainland, get in touch initially with this site or see the ads in the Times Educational Supplement or Argyll and Bute website.
