Oban Hospice Fund Raise Update

28 December 2006

Since Anthony Lutyens did his extraordinary walk of part of the West Highland Way for the Oban Hospice Appeal, donations have been pouring in. Despite being very ill Anthony was determined to do the walk and was accompanied by nurse Fiona MacLean who is currently relieving nurse in Lismore. They were fortunate enough with the weather which has certainly deteriorated since. Anthony’s walk raised in excess of £4000 and at the Lismore Primary School’s Christmas Pantomime on 14 December he told the audience he had been astonished at the amount and felt fortunate to live among such generous people. He once again thanked everyone for their support and in particular the medical staff on Lismore,  in Oban and Glasgow for their continuing wonderful care. On his behalf Primary 7 pupils Eilidh Willis and Flora MacLean presented the cheque to Joan McGill and Elchris Macfarlane from the Hospice. The proceeds of the Pantomime were also going to the Hospice Appeal.
