Lismore School Fete

8 July 2006

There was something for everyone at the School fete this year with the home baking, the tombola and the raffle attracting the greatest attention. But there were also books and videos, a chance to beat the goalie, a duck limbo, and the children’s favourite, a luck dip. The fete is normally held at the end of the holidays and the change meant there were fewer visitors as the English holidays are still to get started. But, thanks to the hard work of the parents, the board, and many of the children and young adults, there was no loss of takings. Special mention must be made of the great generosity of so many businesses and organisations from Oban, Appin, and Lismore. The quality of the prizes and the donations were exceptional and the Board is very grateful. The afternoon got off to a good start when Shona Wright, the school’s youngest pupil, rang the bell and declared the fete open.
