Oban Fis

On Wed 7th June, Lismore Primary School took part in the Oban Fis

(Gaelic Drama Festival) at Oban High School.

The children wrote their own play about a farm on Lismore with the strangest
animals: an extremely vain cow; a hypochondriac chicken; a thieving mouse;
streetwise sheep, and a cat and a dog with serious identity problems. The
farmer and his wife had a difficult time getting a meal together.
Lismore primary school was the only non Gaelic medium school taking part in
the Fis so the whole project was a great feat on the part of the children
and took an enormous amount of hard work to get it right. Nevertheless they
succeeded beyond their own expectations and, on the night, produced a
professional and very funny performance.
