Argyll and Bute Lending Library

A new selection of books is now in the Library and these are for everyone on the island to read and enjoy.  So, please, come along whenever the Museum is open and spend some time browsing and choosing books to take home. Bring your children/grandchildren etc. and encourage them to use the children’s library in their wee corner with their own cosy rug.  There are hardbacks and paperbacks, mostly fiction, and some nice coffee table type books. Large print books are set out on one shelf and there is also a good selection of audio tapes for adults and children.

I have left a notebook for you to note down helpful comments, or titles of books you would like to order.  Read my selection of poems for each month while you are there.  I hope to be in the Library most Wednesday afternoons to help in any way.

The Comann Eachdraidh Library

This library is available for anyone who wishes to read or do research in the Library.  We have a very fine selection of both Gaelic and English books and, as these are very special, they are in locked bookcases.  Please ask whoever is on duty to open the bookcases for you. The books are for use only in the Library and you will find an up-to date list of all these books on the table or window ledge. This database will soon be available on the Library computer and is already on our CELM website.

Happy reading!        Barbara
