The objects of the Community Trust

Lismore Community Trust has been formed to benefit the community of Lismore as defined by the postcode units PA34 5UL, PA34 5UG, PA34 5UH, PA34 5UQ, PA34 5UN and PA34 5UJ.

  • To manage community land and associated assets for the benefit of the Community and the public in general.
  • To advance community development, including rural regeneration within the Community.
  • To advance the education of the Community about its environment, culture, heritage and/or history.
  • To advance environmental protection or improvement including preservation, sustainable development and conservation of the natural environment, the maintenance, improvement or provision of environmental amenities for the Community and/or the preservation of buildings or sites of architectural, historic or other importance to the Community.
  • To encourage, promote and support economic and social development on the island that is demonstrably in the interests of the community.
  • To seek to provide energy from renewable resources for the benefit of residents.
  • To deliver local projects that provide long term employment and help create a useful resource base for the future;
  • To maintain and develop the community and its culture.

All of this to be done following the principles of sustainable development.
