Report on progress

The following should have been presented at the Lismore Community Council meeting on 24th March 2016 but wasn't. Sorry.

Subject to planning permissions being granted, the location of the ten transmission masts required for the primary ‘ring’ is very close to resolution and a number of subsidiary transmission sites have been identified. This process of securing transmission sites has taken significantly longer than had been anticipated by the initial programme of AB Internet, the contractor for the provision of the network infrastructure. A consequence of this is that the service is now unlikely to be up and running earlier than the end of this year.

On customer support/fault reporting and remedial response arrangements it is still the intention that the customer support number will be answered locally, within the GigaPlus service area, and that most routine technical faults will be attended to by local staff. Only major technical breakdowns (hopefully few and far between) may necessitate importing expertise from outside the local area.
