Survey – Lismore Ferry Services

Following submission of latest draft questionnaire to Councillor Robertson (following emergency meeting held on 23 August), Secretary had received a proposal from the Councillor that respondents should be asked to place the three options in order of preference. Secretary had consulted members individually and all had agreed to the proposal.

Subsequently Chairman and Secretary had received word from Councillor Robertson that, because the option introduced at the emergency meeting held on 23 August was not an option recognised by Argyll and Bute Council, A&BC was not prepared to include it in their proposed survey. This emergency meeting was called to decide what LCC’s response should be.

Agreed unanimously that if A&BC were not prepared to conduct a survey including the three options identified by LCC, then LCC would conduct the survey itself. Secretary to write to Councillor Robertson, with copies to George Lyon and Nicol Stevens, accordingly. Secretary also to prepare arrangements for survey to be undertaken, with returns made by post to an independent third party to act as enumerator, as soon as possible. Dr McNicol would be asked to act as independent enumerator.
