MINUTE’s AGM 2002: - PROPOSED D McCORMICK, SECONDED M PERKINS

D.O.N.M.    TO BE LEFT OPEN UNTIL CLRS A. McDOUGAL, D. Mcintyre, E ROBERTSON CAN ALL ATTEND

CHAIR REPORT: - J LIVINGSTONE

LAST YEAR HOPE WAS FOR PROGRESS TO BE MADE ON THE POINT & ACHNACROISH FERRY, UNFORTUNATLY VERY LITTLE HAS BEEN ACHIEVED APART FROM A VERY USEFUL MEETING ON SEPT 22nd WITH MR

EWAN MACKERCHER. CONCERNS REMAINE
ABOUT THE OUT OF HOURS NUMBER FOR THE MEDICAL SERVICE. CLR C CAMERON HAD MENTIONED AT AN EARLIER MEETING THAT EXTRA TRANSPORT FUNDING MONEY WAS AVAILABLE WHICH COULD BE USED FOR LATER SAILINGS OR FRIEGHT COST. MRS ROBERTSON WILL BE ASKED TO TAKE THIS FORWARD.

THANKS WERE GIVEN TO THE CHILDREN WHO HAD RAISED OVER £400.00 TO KICK-START THE FUND RAISING FOR A SECOND DEFIBRILATOR FOR THE ISLAND.

ROADS CONTINUE TO NEED ATTENTION & IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF MR N BROWN WOULD SEND OVER MATERIAL TO ALLOW OUR ISLAND CONTRACTOR TO ATTEND TO THESE NEEDS

THE HEALTH SERVICE ARE MAKING MAJOR CHANGES, SOME VERY WORRYING AND ALTHOUGH LISMORE IS WELL SERVED BY OUR DRS & NURSES NOW, SHOULD ANY LEAVE THEN PATIENTS & SERVICES MAY SUFFER.

SCRAP CARS CONTINUE TO BE A PROBLEM S DUNCAN WILL ARRANGE UP LIFT OF A FURTHER 5 CARS, NOTICE TO SHOP.

ALIENENERGY AND WIND TURBINES, HOUSING AND A PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY FOR THOSE WHO WISH IT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO

TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR EUROPEAN FUNDING AND MAY STOP IN 2006. THE ISLAND MUST SORT ITS SELF OUT & STOP MAKING ISSUES ABOUT FARES & TIME TABLES THAT CAN BE SORTED OUT ONCE THE FACILITY IS IN PLACE. IMPRESS TO THE CONCIL THAT CAL MAC MUST BE LEFT TO RUN A PASSENGER FERRY TO OBAN, IT WILL BE USED BY THE ISLAND AND TOURISTS, BUT THE VEHICULAR FERRY IS NECESSARY AT POINT / PORT APPIN THE ISLAND HAS A VERY FRAGILE ECONOMY AND EVERY EFFORT MUST BE PUT INTO KEEPING THE CHURCH, LOCAL SHOP, SCHOOL POST OFFICE.

ARGYLL & BUTE COUNCIL WILL NOT SPEND MONEY IF THERE IS NOT AGGREMENT WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.

THE CONCIL MEMBERS WERE THANKED FOR THEIR HARD WORK ESPECIALLY THE SECRETERY AND TREASURER.

THANKS ALSO TO NORMA WHO WORKED BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY AND TO IRIS WHO HAD A VALUABLE INPUT & AND TO ANNE FOR HER HELP WITH THE POST.

MARK AND ARCHIE WERE WELCOPMED ONTO THE COMMITTEE
