MRS I MACCOLL REQUESTED THAT IT BE MINITED THAT AT THE MEETING OF 22nd  JANUARY THAT SHE HAD REQUESTED A

BIGGER MORE EFFICIENT BOAT WITH MORE SAILINGS FROM ACHANACROISH/OBAN BE LOOKED INTO.

STAY PUT PROJECT

1.3 MILLION SET ASIDE TO KEEP THE ELDERLY PEOPLE AT HOME ON ISLANDS. LISMORE HAD NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THIS PROJECT. BEING LOOKED INTO BY CLLR C CAMERON

TRUST RE ORGANISATION

LETTER FROM G LYON MSP LOOKING FOR SUPPORT THAT ARGYLL AND BUTE REMAIN AS A GEOGRAPHICAL AREA TO BE MANAGED RATHER THAN BE MANAGED BY AN URBAN AREA. LETTER OF SUPPORT HAS BEEN SENT.

NEW GP CONTRACT

THE NEW GP CONTRACT STATES THAT ALL GPS CAN OPT OUT OFF OUT OF HOURS ON CALL IE FROM 5pm UNTILL 9am. THE IMPLICATION OF THIS ON REMOTE, RURAL AND ISLAND AREAS MUST BE ADDRESSED.

FERRIES    PRESENT

REPLY TO LETTER SENT TO MR BROWN REGARDING SLIP WAY AT POINT STATES THAT REPAIRS WILL BE CARRIED SECOND HALF OF MARCH. IT WILL BE LOOKED INTO IF THE FERRY MEN CAN HELP WITH THE CLEANING OF THE SLIPS BUT THIS WAS INFACT UP TO DATE.

CLLR CAMERON REPORTED THAT AN APPLICATION FOR MONEY FROM THE TRANSPORT FUND FOR LISMORE HAD BEEN SUCCESSFUL? AMOUNT COULD BE USED FOR OUT OF HOURS SAILINGS AT NO ADDITIONAL COST.

IT WAS NOTED THAT THE EIGG HAD AGAIN BEEN TAKEN OFF FOR ANOTHER ROUTE CAUSING MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH REGARD TO HAY LORRIES, DEISELL LORRIES, CATTLE TRUCKS, AND BUILDING MATERIAL ETC. LETTER TO BE WRITTEN TO McBRAYNES CHAIRMAN REGARDING THESE PROBLEMS AND TO DISCUSS IMPROVING THE SERVICE AT ACHNACROISH, SIZE OF BOAT, SAILING TIMES, OLD SLIP AT ACHNACROISH, ETC

REPLY RECEIVED FROM MR I GREY ONLY NO OTHER RESPONSES TO DATE.

CLLR CAMERON REPORTED THAT FROM THE MEETING OF 15th

 JAN 03 THE SCOTTISH EXECUTIVE FELT THAT THERE WAS LACK OF SUPPORT, CONFUSED AND MIXED MESSAGES FROM LISMORE AND SO THE BID WAS TURNED DOWN.THIS WOULD NOW NOT BE LOOKED AT AGAIN UNTILL 2009.

CLLR CAMERON SAID THE ISLAND MUST GET TOGETHER AND DECIDE WHAT IT REALLY WANTS, DRAW UP CLEAR PLANS AND GO AHEAD AND CAMPAIGN FOR WHAT EVER WAS DECIDED.

MR J WORMLIGHTON DEVELOPED A DISCUSSION REGARDING THE NEED TO DRAW A LINE, START AT THE BEGINNING AND ALL JOIN TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY TO LEAD THIS FORWARD TO KEEP OWNERSHIP WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.OTHER IDEAS INCLUDED THAT CLLR CAMERON AND CLLR MACINTYRE DRAW UP A NEW QUESTIONAIR ON BEHALF OF THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL AND THAT A PUBLIC MEETING BE CALLED IN MAY AND INVITE  A GOW, CLLR CAMERON, D MACINTYRE, I GILLIS.

TO GIVE INFORMATION THAT THE COMMUNITY CAN USE TO MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE REGARDING ANY FUTURE SERVICE, FARE SRUCTURE, TIME TABLE ETC
