Visiting the isle on a weeks holiday and staying at the point.
Weather leaving a lot to be desired but the scenery is stunning and the local people we have met have been warm, friendly and welcoming. looking forward to visiting the heritage centre tomorrow to learn more of the History of the isle.

2017 I have visited Lismore in my imagination a hundred times or more. If only we could bargain with time and time could bargain back, we might get the better deal once in a while. What a beautiful island.

We came to larkrise in 2016 in memory of my aunt May Grant. We had a wonderful time with fantastic weather. We will be back on June 10. Forecast less promising but in Lismore you never know.

I recently found an old family tree that tracks my family back to Lismore. I think this is incredible and I hope to learn more. I know this is a very long shot but I wanted to see if I could find information or even super distant relatives. My relatives were Donald Black(born 1730) and his wife Jannet (born 1741). They left on a ship named the Jupiter, I'm not sure the year, and landed in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA. Thanks in advance for any info!

If you let us have your email address, we will pass it on to the island genealogist.

Went for a walk on the island while spending a few days in Oban. Surprised and delighted by everything I saw, not least the benign spring weather (11 March 2017). I hope to return soon when the heritage centre is open.
