I hope the good people of Lismore can help me (or Duncan if you are reading this 'Hi'). My husband and I are planning a trip to the Highlands and saw (Robert) Duncan McVean in a Marie Claire article saying he'd moved to the Isle of Lismore.

My husband remembers him from 20 years ago before email, and would like to catch up and reconnect with him. Our email is if anyone can help. Many thanks.

I am looking for information about a Duncan Carmichael who was born in 1820 in Lismore. His father Dugald was a farmer at Achinduin Farm. Duncan married Catherine MacQuarrie and moved to Oban where he was a Sheriff's Officer. H

My family history traces us back to early 19th century Lismore. My Grandfather and a few of his brothers visited after WW 1. My sister and I stayed with Jessie Stewart(a distant relative) in the 1980's and my parents were visitors in 1986,1992,1996. I stayed in Oban in 1993 and visited Morag and Jim Ross but never made it over again.A wonderful part of the world indeed.

Finally got our two weeks on the island sorted after it looked like we might not be able to make it. Can't wait as usual but probably can wait to meet the "Baroness Achnaduin"! The island wedding looks so wonderfully bonkers, we would have loved to have been there, right up our street!
