I have visited my mother's relatives on Lismore and am returning to Scotland with freinds in July 2013. I wish to spend a day showing them the island perhaps by bike.

We have just spent the most wonderful week on the island! It was a beautiful place to spend Christmas. Peaceful, stunning and magical. I can't wait to return.

Great to see the end of Point shelter at last! Hope there will be a better replacement?

Afraid we think it is being replaced with the exact same, just newer, shelter. The waiting room on the Port Appin side was replaced last week, with an identical shelter.

48 years ago I left Lismore along with my mother Sylvia Beavis. On 12th Sept 2012 I find myself returning to fulfil my mothers dying wish of having her ashes spread on the island. My heartfelt thanks go to Dougie and Mary McDougal who enabled me to do this on Balure farm where we used to live. It was nice to see a few of the old faces like Skinny, Ian Mckinnon and Gregor. I will be up again and plan to stay a lot longer. My thanks also go to Maureen of the Old School House where we stayed. This has been a culture shock for my wife and friend Ron who came up with me. They are now converted.

Thank you to everyone for a brilliant Raft Race and Sports Day - our family, from the wee tots to the adults, loved every minute of it. A couple of them came second last in the raft race but it was one place better than their last performance in 2009! Our thanks go to Archie McGillivary for coming to the rescue with the raft and trailer. We again had a lovely holiday on the island and should be back soon. Sorry to miss the School Family Ceilidh but best wishes for the event.

There appears to be a lot of Holiday accommodation popping up recently. For such a small island, do you think it can sustain all of these?

There is actually less holiday accommodation available now than 7 or 8 years ago

It was great to be back on Lismore last week after too long away. The island is looking great - cafe and heritage centre are brilliant additions. Well done to all involved. Hope to be back soon.

Enjoyed a very peaceful night anchored in Port Ramsay. Also walked up to the cafe for a well-earned tea and scone! Lismore is a lovely place; we'd like to come back again.

We should like to thank everyone on Lismore for the wonderful celebrations during Diamond Jubilee week. We started by attending Pix in the Stix presentation of the 'Lismore Smacks' followed by the classic film 'Whisky Galore' on Sunday and then took part in the Tuesday activities - the street party, ceilidh and barbecue. BRILLIANT! Everyone made us so welcome.

Glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again, soon.

So, although I'm really pleased to be working at the Olympics this year - I'm really really miffed that I'm going to miss out on the King Cresote concert. Missed him at Celtic Connections this year due to a clash, and now missing him on Lismore due to a clash. If he plays Cod Liver Oil and the Orange Juice, please DO NOT TELL ME. I'll not be happy!

Seriously though - I know all my family and friends are going to have a great night at this. I wish I could be there, and I'll be thinking of you all.

Sorry you are missing it Jane

I'll be in Oban in mid-April and am looking forward to taking the ferry to Lismore for a brief visit. It certainly looks like a beautiful place and one that I would definitely enjoy visiting.
