Carnie Cottage is stone-built cottage with a large new extension, combining the cosy attractiveness of the traditional cottage with the light open spaciousness of a modern home.  It is located in the centre of the island, 300m from the island shop and Post Office, 500m from the Community Hall and 1km from the Lismore Museum and cafe.   The cottage is also perfectly situated to enjoy easy access to walks or cycles both in the North and South of this beautiful island.

The accommodation in the original cottage consists of a spacious living room with wooden floors and solid fuel stove. It is furnished with two large comfortable couches and an easy chair. Also included is a generous bedroom with twin bunk beds. A spiral staircase in the living room leads upstairs to a bright, open plan carpeted attic. The front porch includes ample storage space for boots and coats and a small WC.

 

The original cottage retains much of its traditional appeal but is complemented by the new extension which benefits from a fully fitted modern kitchen with electric hob and oven, fridge and freezer, plus washing machine and tumble drier in a small utility room.  The whole cottage is well insulated and enjoys oil-fired central heating as well as a traditional stove in the livingroom.

 The extension has wooden floors throughout and French doors leading onto a large garden.  The main room consists of a spacious kitchen/dining room with a dining table able to accommodate 10 persons. There is a small utility room leading into a bathroom with power shower. A small double bedroom completes this harmonious addition to the old cottage. 
The house is equipped for up to 8 people and the enclosed garden has ample space for children to play in.

Prices:  October to June -£350, July -Sep, £400 inclusive of electricity central heating and fuel.  Linen and towels  supplied. A small charge will be made for a laundry service at the end of your stay, if requested.
